Terms of Service

You must be of legal smoking age in your jurisdiction to use Cigar Ring. That means at least 21 years old in the United States, and generally 18 elsewhere — we apply the local rule based on your billing country and IP address.

By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we have reason to believe you don’t, we may suspend or terminate your account.

Cigar Ring is a catalog and tracking tool. We do not sell tobacco products. We don’t hold inventory, we don’t process tobacco purchases, and we don’t ship anything.

When the app shows a “buy” option, it links to a third-party retailer. The transaction happens entirely between you and that retailer; their terms, return policies, and shipping rules apply, not ours. We’re not responsible for the products they sell or the services they provide.

Tobacco use carries health risks. Cigar Ring is for adults who choose to consume cigars; we don’t encourage consumption.

Some links on Cigar Ring are affiliate links — when you click them and complete a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. This costs you nothing extra and doesn’t affect what we recommend; commission rates do not influence our recommendation engine.

In jurisdictions where affiliate links to tobacco products are restricted (notably France under Loi Évin), we hide buy buttons entirely and show a “find a local tobacconist” option instead.

You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. One account per person. Don’t share your password. If you suspect someone else has access to your account, change your password from your profile page and contact us.

You can delete your account at any time from the profile page (or by emailing us). We delete the associated personal data within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy.

You own the content you create on Cigar Ring — your ratings, tasting notes, photos, voice memos, and humidor records. We don’t claim ownership of any of it.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process your content for the purpose of providing the service to you (and to other users if you explicitly share the content). The license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for backups retained briefly for technical recovery.

You’re responsible for the content you create. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to share, and don’t upload anything illegal or harmful.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract data from the app.
• Attempt to access accounts that aren’t yours, or exploit security vulnerabilities (please report them to us instead).
• Use the app to harass, defame, or harm others.
• Upload illegal content, content infringing third-party rights, or content promoting tobacco use to minors.
• Use automated systems (bots, scripts) to interact with the app, beyond standard browser caching.
• Attempt to circumvent jurisdiction-specific behavior (e.g., spoofing your country to access restricted features).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Cigar Ring uses AI to identify cigars from photos, draft tasting-note suggestions, and generate recommendations. AI outputs are suggestions, not authoritative facts. Cigar identification can be wrong, especially for limited editions, regional releases, or poorly lit photos. Always verify a cigar’s identity before relying on it for collection valuation, insurance, or anything else with real consequences.

We may add, change, or remove features over time. For features you actively use, we’ll give reasonable notice before significant changes. Beta features may change or disappear at any time.

We may update these terms. For material changes, we’ll notify you by email and inside the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date counts as acceptance.

Cigar Ring is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, catalog completeness, or accuracy of recommendations or valuations. The app is for personal, non-commercial use; if you rely on its data for commercial decisions (resale valuations, insurance claims, etc.), you do so at your own risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cigar Ring is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) what you’ve paid us in the past 12 months, or (b) USD 50. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits; where that’s the case, the limits don’t apply.

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that creates risk for other users or for us (fraud, abuse, illegal activity).

These terms are governed by French law. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought before the competent courts of Paris, France. If you’re a consumer in another EU member state, mandatory consumer- protection rules of your country still apply.
